In 2023 the Louisiana Department of Education recognized CCSS as a “Models of Excellence” recipient. CCSS ranks in the top 10% of public school districts in Louisiana and has a graduation rate of 93%. Saint Alphonsus’ K-8 and Central Private K-12 offer additional options that, along with CCSS, inspire families to move to the City of Central. Postsecondary options, which are within driving distance, include Baton Rouge Community College in the City of Central and the Main Baton Rouge Campus, Louisiana State University, Southeastern Louisiana University, and Southern University.
