  • Tropical Storm Francine is still holding steady at 65 mph sustained winds. It is forecast to continue moving generally northeastward until landfall along the central Louisiana coast. 
    • Note: Francine is no longer expected to make landfall as a category 2 hurricane. However, it cannot be ruled out entirely.
  • Francine is beginning to move more to the north and is expected to strengthen through the day. Francine will bring moderate to life threatening coastal flooding, damaging winds, heavy rain and a few tornadoes possibly as early as late tonight and through Thursday morning.
  • East Baton Rouge Parish is under the following watches and warnings:
    • Hurricane Warning
    • Flood Watch until Thursday, September 12th at 7:00 AM.
  • Widespread totals of 4-8” or rainfall with locally higher amounts possible. Some areas could see up to 12” of rain. Exact totals will depend on where the heavier bands set up. 
    • Locally, most rain will occur Wednesday and Wednesday night.
