"While we are flushing you may possibly experience lower pressure than normal and could have a tint in the water. If you use any water in your home during the posted flush times you may draw this water into your plumbing system. Toilets and hot water heaters have tanks that can keep this water around long after we are done. If you continue to have discoloration or cloudy water after the posted flush has ended, please let the cold water tap in your kitchen run for approximately 3-5 minutes. If the cold water in the kitchen is clear and the hot water and toilets still have a tint, they may require a brief flush. If any of these issues continue after the posted flush times, please call us at 225-925-2011."

CENTRAL, LA. – The City of Central has begun an update to its Comprehensive Master Plan, Central 2045: A Plan for the Future. On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, the City will host the first area planning meeting at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library Conference Room, located at 11260 Joor Road, Central, LA 70818, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.
The City of Central is in the next phase of developing the Comprehensive Plan. The planning area will focus on the properties north of Hooper Road.
“We want to build upon the foundations established by the 2010 Land Use Plan efforts of decades past. CENTRAL 2045 is the general plan for land use and policies intended to guide and address the city's current and future needs,” said Mayor Wade Evans.
The CENTRAL 2045 plan encapsulates a vision for the future of our community. As technology advances, populations shift, and resiliency becomes more frequent, the CENTRAL 2045 plan must be examined and revised to maintain relevancy. This update cycle is the opportunity to consider our current situation and contribute your voice to the conversation.
“As we continue to build the Plan, citizen participation is vital,” said Evans.
The multi-chapter CENTRAL 2045 includes several elements addressing land use, housing, infrastructure, economic development, healthy communities, etc.
